Out Reach Program

is a program designed to help the community to establish economic development groups with members not less than ten and greater than fifteen in order  to cover their subsistence needs. This is important in creating alternative usage of biomass such as charcoal, firewood and other products especially to the community living near forest. And establishment of group projects which are environmental friendly.  Communities who are engaging in biomass and timber production are advised to have special plots where they will be harvesting tree in recycling mode to assure constant availability of trees and to avoid deforestation to the reserved forest and natural trees.
All of our activities are archived with co operation with local government authorities.

Seminars and Workshops

SWP provide seminars and workshops basing on importance of trees, conservation of forest, ways of overcoming fire explosions in forest, careering of trees, perfect selection of health seeds, seedlings techniques, permanent farming to overcome further destruction of forest, preservation of natural trees and the alternative usage of tree products like charcoal to the usage of bio gas. The education is provided in primary and secondary schools, higher learning institutions, organizations,  local people who owns forest and the community at large.

Some photos will be uploaded soon.

Aforestation , reaforestation and after care

Meanwhile the Anstonel company of Iringa, was finding a way to create composite manure for the health growth of our planted trees.

Planting trees is vital to maintain a balance in the ecosystem. Without trees there is no oxygen gas then no life of world animals, makes us live a healthy and pleasant life,

·         Trees produce oxygen which absorbs carbon dioxide produced by animals and by different machines in industries and vehicles.
·         Some of trees provide shade, fruits, nitrogen fixation, medicine and natural habitat to insect.
·         Trees prevent soil erosion because the roots bind the soil together, the leaves which are dropped to the ground decompose increases the fertility of the soil.
·         But also remove different kinds of impurities from the atmosphere including nitrogen oxide, sulfur dioxide and ozone.
·         Trees increase the value of the land and make the environment beauty.
·         Trees are good absorbers of noise. In planting many trees we reduce sound pollution.
·         Planting of trees help reduce ozone levels and the biodiversity gets enriched in turn.
·         Trees help to maintain sources of water and slowing the runoff of rain water allowing refilling aquifers.
Therefore trees should be regularly planted to save the mankind and the animal world. However almost half of the world forests are lost and deforestation continues due to land development, agriculture expansion, fire explosion, unsustainable logging practices pest and insect infestations and trade basing on trees products such as timber and charcoal.

Introduction

Save The World By Planting Trees (SWP) is a Non Governmental Organization established by the locals from the municipal of Iringa with the main objectives of afforestation, reforestation, to preserve existed forests and water resources also to conduct environmental education which includes seedlings techniques, after care and environmental friendly out reach programs especial to the community earning their lives through biomass
Africa accounts for about one fifth of the earth’s land area. Forest covers more than 653 million hectares which is more than 20 % of the continent’s land area. However   in the period 2000 to 2005 about, four million hectares of forest were lost annually mainly due to conversion to small scale agriculture.
